Hiking burns more calories than running kill stress very quickly and leads your stamina to the top.
As a child, walking was too lame for us. Today it is precisely this slowness that makes us really happy because there is a … nothing more relaxing than being able to do a good job out in nature and b) not counting on new records. One woman who actually liked to pack the hiking backpack as a child is Tamara Lunger. The 28-year-old rides on really high mountains around, climbed as the youngest woman the Lhotse in the Himalayas, with its 8516 meters, the fourth highest mountain on earth.
That’s how hiking makes you slim.
To train her basic stamina, the sports scientist goes hiking almost daily. And that really makes you fit? But yes! Hikers are by definition at least 2 hours straight, the heart rate is constantly increased slightly. Optimal! “For me, it is important to be in training in nature,” says the outdoor expert. To paved routes go but only strollers. With their urge to be outdoors is Tamara Lunger not alone: According to a study by the German Hiking Institute is the desire 88% of hikers are motivated to go off the tarmac and that’s a lot going on now, 40 million Germans are on a regular tour of nature.
With this calorie, consumption hiking is a real fat killer.
Trekking not only makes you happy but brings you in top form. The action burns just as many calories per kilometer as jogging. If you travel 6 kilometers in 30 minutes, you end up consuming exactly as much energy as if you had been traveling for 2 hours. Great right? We do not necessarily have to rush and pant to get fit. In addition, when hiking, bumps and inclines increase the minus calorie balance. For example, 100 meters of pure ascent kills 50 calories on average – just as many as on the level of one kilometer. Your luggage on your back puts it on top of it.
Which body regions are the most stressed?
Not only the uphill show’s effect: “Especially when it goes quite steep downhill, the butt muscles have to catch the weight again and again,” explains Lunger, the runner-up of the Gore-Tex Transalpine-Run 2013. To round things out: hiking calls next to the entire leg also torso and arms. The latter especially if you go on the stick. “It relieves the legs, to push on sticks and intercept,” said the mountaineer.
It is best to use adjustable models, which may be shorter uphill and downhill longer than in the plane. Make sure the left arm goes forward when the right foot is doing, and vice versa. A stable, upright hull supports the movement. In general, you should be able to have a good time and choose a pace that you can hold all day – without lapsing into a stroll. And do not be afraid of overloads: The pace adapts automatically on inclines.
Why is hiking so good for the body and psyche?
By the way, the body adjusts to the height difference, and that makes you really fit. Lunger explains: “The thinner air forces the organism to produce more red blood cells, which increases oxygen uptake, which makes it more powerful.” However, people who are not used to altitude sometimes get a headache there, “The blood gets a little thicker because there are more components in it, so it’s important to drink a lot at higher altitudes,” advises the expert. Even with other challenges such as slippery surfaces or larger stones: practice makes perfect. “The foot muscles are getting stronger and more flexible, so can better compensate for bumps,” says Lunger. In addition to more sure-footedness, the ability to coordinate and balance reaches a child’s level – and that is positive in this case!
In addition, self-confidence increases with every step of hiking. Because hiking is one of the few things in which a look back brings us one step forward. Not just physically (when your legs are heavy), but also mentally. Or would you have thought that you can easily walk a distance of about 15 kilometers on foot? So long is a hiker on the average per day on the road, and in good company, namely mostly with friends or family. That’s why the hut has now run out of rank the summit cross. Because hiking is about feeling good and not about measuring your muscles. In addition, you have consumed a lot of energy during the ascent and must urgently replenish the memory. And anyway: a bit of fun must be, then happiness comes by itself.
5 rules that good hikers pay attention to.
Before you start your first hiking tour, you should familiarize yourself with these 5 basic rules, so that you do not step on anyone’s feet on the way:
1. Be respectful
If hikers meet on the way, they usually greet each other. After all, you are among like-minded people.
2. Take the trash back.
Everything that comes up with the mountain, goes down with it again. This applies to you and your waste. Even huts rarely have wastebaskets.
3. That’s it!
Stay on the signposted paths, even if a shortcut seems totally enticing – for the sake of nature!
4. Close the door!
Partially gates of cow fences cross the hiking routes. As a matter, of course, you open these to cross them, so naturally, you should close them behind again.
5. Please do not feed!
You still have a sandwich left and want to give the animals a treat – do not do it! The four-legged will be at most sick and besiege every subsequent hiker.
With walking step by step to weight loss success.
Lace up the hiking boots and use the vertical meters to get closer to your desired body. But please never forget: the way is the goal! Enjoy the nature, the view and the relaxed slowness of hiking.
